Second Sunrise is a Christ-centred, non-clinical life renewal service based in Huntsville, Ontario.
We help adults rebuild stability, healthy routines, confidence, purpose, faith, and hope through practical support, Scripture, prayer, encouragement, accountability, life skills, and supportive community.
Yes.
Faith in God and the hope of Jesus Christ are at the centre of Second Sunrise. Our programs may include prayer, Scripture, Christian teaching, biblical encouragement, personal reflection, and conversations about faith.
You do not need to have everything figured out spiritually before reaching out.
People from different backgrounds and life experiences are welcome and will be treated with dignity and respect. However, participants must understand that Second Sunrise is openly Christian and that faith-based content is part of the program experience.
No one will be pressured to pretend they believe something they do not believe.
Second Sunrise supports adults aged 18 and older who are ready to take practical steps toward rebuilding their lives.
This may include people moving forward after:
Addiction or recovery challenges
Treatment, hospitalization, or incarceration
Loss, instability, trauma, or family breakdown
Major life changes
Isolation, discouragement, or lack of direction
Difficulty creating routines, goals, or healthy structure
Second Sunrise serves both women and men. Some individual groups may be designed for a specific group based on safety, program focus, or community need.
Second Sunrise programs include:
Foundations — a 12-week Christ-centred life renewal program
Bridging Next Steps — transition support after treatment, hospitalization, incarceration, or another structured setting
Recovery Circle — ongoing faith-based encouragement, accountability, and community
Anchor Point — a four-week stabilization program
Alumni Circle — continued support for people who have completed a program
Second Sunrise Pathways — a longer-term journey of renewal, stability, faith, and growth
Program availability may change depending on enrollment, scheduling, and community need.

Our programs are non-clinical and do not replace professional care or treatment.
Second Sunrise is not a crisis or emergency service.

Before sharing someone else’s personal information, please make sure you have their permission.
The person receiving support will normally need to speak with Second Sunrise and agree to participate voluntarily.

A referral does not automatically enroll someone. Participation must be voluntary, and program suitability will still be reviewed.
Some Second Sunrise programs have a participation fee.
Fees vary by program and will be explained before enrollment is confirmed.
Payment arrangements or sponsorship support may be available in some circumstances. Financial difficulty should not prevent someone from asking for information.

Second Sunrise does not currently provide transportation.
Participants are responsible for arranging travel to and from in-person programs.
We will provide the location and schedule early enough to help participants plan.
Personal information will be handled respectfully and used only for responding to inquiries, reviewing applications, providing programs, maintaining required records, or addressing safety concerns.
Second Sunrise will not publicly share a participant’s story, identity, photograph, or program involvement without permission, except where disclosure may be required by law or necessary because of an immediate safety concern.
General questions may be asked without sharing extensive personal details.
However, enrollment in a program normally requires basic identifying and contact information so that Second Sunrise can communicate with participants, review suitability, and maintain safe program records.
Participation is voluntary.
Participants may withdraw from a program, but we encourage them to speak with Second Sunrise before leaving so concerns, barriers, or possible alternatives can be discussed.
Program fees and refund arrangements will follow the terms provided at enrollment.
Participants are expected to:
Treat others with dignity and respect
Protect the privacy of other participants
Avoid threatening, abusive, discriminatory, or disruptive behaviour
Attend free from alcohol or non-prescribed impairing substances
Participate honestly and voluntarily
Respect group boundaries and safety guidelines
Second Sunrise may end someone’s participation when behaviour creates a safety concern or seriously disrupts the group.
Volunteer opportunities may become available as programs grow.
